Tim Dertwinkel (Germany)

Mr. Dertwinkel has studied Public Policy and Management (Diplom-Verwaltungswissenschaft) with specialization in International Relations at Konstanz University and at the IEP Aix-en-Provence, France. He further holds a postgraduate Masters degree in Peace Research and Security Studies from IFSH Hamburg.

Before coming to Flensburg, he was a PhD candidate at ETH Zurich/Switzerland, dealing with ethnic conflicts from a quantitative-statistical perspective. Since April 2008, the PhD work is continued at the University of Essex, UK.
Mr. Dertwinkel has served as research assistant at various academic institutions in Germany such as the Center for Development Research in Bonn and the Science Center Berlin. At ECMI he is responsible for the conceptual, methodological and empirical development of the Equal Economic Opportunities Programme. He is also Managing Editor of the European Yearbook of Minority Issues.

Ali Sungur (Turkey)

Ali Sungur studied Public Finance (BA) at the Istanbul University. He is now taking a master's of European Studies at the University of Flensburg and Syddansk University.
